Jeff was born and raised in the great Northwest, a Tacoma native from birth. He started drumming in 1965, banging on his mother's hat boxes while watching Beatles cartoons on Saturday mornings. His influences are the some of the greatest icons of rock drumming, including Ringo (the real one, not the cartoon), Don Brewer (Grand Funk), Ian Paice (Deep Purple), Mitch Mitchell (The Jimi Hendrix Experience), and Phil Rudd (AC?DC). Jeff's own style, while influenced by the greats, is all his own. Jeff's current kit is a 1981 Ludwig maple rocker drum set under Aquarin heads with Zildjian and Sabian brass.
